Community Support
Freeman Brothers Funeral Directors’ Community Team was set up in 2017 by Becky Hughes and Chrissie Wilkie in recognition of the Company’s ability to support a range of groups within the local area.
Freeman Brothers in the community
Freeman Brothers has always been dedicated to supporting communities across Sussex and Surrey, and raising awareness around important issues.
Through events such as the South of England Show, we’ve increased our presence while upholding our tradition of service.
Our commitment to giving back extends to a variety of local charities and organisations, from supporting young adults with additional needs to partnering with food distribution networks, homeless charities, and local hospices.
Becky and Chrissie have been instrumental in expanding our community efforts. Joined by their colleagues Jen and Julie, who both work in Freeman Brothers’ Crawley branch. Together, they’ve worked on events ranging from Dying Matters Awareness Week discussions to fundraising activities like selling ice cream during the Hurst Arts Festival and organising our first Community Remembrance Services.
Even during the pandemic, they adapted by creating an Online Remembrance Service and virtual events for Dying Matters Awareness Week, ensuring we stayed connected to the community.
As we move forward, Becky, Chrissie, Jen, and Julie continue to be key contacts for community engagement. If you’re interested in partnering with us for local activities or need support for an event, feel free to reach out at community@freemanbrothers.co.uk.
Our team can assist with printing materials, event support, talks on funeral planning, or contributions to raffles and competitions.
